a tribute to my favorite green bean.
ok, first up. kishi loves him, too. he’s not the best writer in the world, we’ve all come to see this but he knew what he was doing when he made lee’s character. i read that he created lee to represent both human strength and human weakness. in a series with almost magic-like powers, he’s the only normal one, and he reminds the reader as often as he shows up that everyone is still human in this series. he’s also a constant reminder that you can do anything you put your mind to as long as you’re willing to work at it. lee is strong with just the right amount of faults to be believable and inspirational.
second; he’s so god damn polite. remember when he was about to be chopped in half by kimimaro’s bone sword? he asks for him to ‘please wait’ because he has to take his medicine. he also politely asks that he not be ignored earlier in the fight. he loves martial arts and he loves being a ninja, but violence for violence’s sake is not his road. he fights for respect and those he loves, and he shows everyone who faces him the same honor he would his own teammate. he treats his friends just as kindly; when naruto was down in the dumps and feeling lonely, lee wrangled everyone up and made them go to a spa. WHICH HE DIDN’T JOIN THEM FOR RIGHT AWAY, BTW. he promised himself he would finish training before joining and he ‘would not be a liar.’
you fucking precious turtle child.
three; he’s no pushover. yea, he’s nice. he’s sweet and a little naive but don’t you dare piss him off because he will slice you in half with his fucking foot.
four; his eyebrows. come on now. don’t tell me you don’t love them. if you do, you’re lying to yourself.
five; his attitude. how someone can remain so cheery all the god damn time i will never know. he approaches every obstacle and task like it’s his most important yet, and he always sees things through till the end. it’s rare to see him upset, truly upset. he’s emotional but more in the happy sense of the word; we’ve only ever seen him really angry or emotionally destroyed once? maybe twice? for crying all the time, he’s certainly got an iron will. he doesn’t hold grudges, he doesn’t use negative emotions as his strength, none of that shit.
six; his jutsu style. kishi also said he modeled a lot of lee and gai’s abilities around the fighting in the dragon ball series; the super strong punches and charging up and physical brute force. there’s just something so awesome to me about a martial arts master with inhuman strength and speed. and he fights drunk????? he can fight passed out. he can fight just about anywhere. get the fuck out of here oh my god. he wears weights so heavy they crack stone and doesn’t flinch, he can lift up entire tree roots from the ground, he can even crack the side of a fucking mountain. AND he was the first person to touch gaara of the fucking desert, does everyone else forget that? if you do i’ll remind you don’t worry.
don’t touch me sharingan swirly eyes, idgaf lee will smack all of you down or so help me.
seven; he’s fucking adorable ok. not to mention dreamy, for a fictional character. you try telling me a fitness expert doesn’t have the most in shape body in the world, and i will punch you in your sassy mouth.
eight; his team is perfect don’t touch me.
nine; youth!!!!! helps with things!!! nicest person in the entire world!!
and finally, ten; he never, ever gives up. that alone is one of the most commendable traits you can give a person. it hurts him a lot of the time, what with trying to woo sakura and forcing himself beyond limits so often, but he is such a selfless motherfucker he never cares. he’ll do whatever is necessary to protect his precious people, and his own nindo.
IF ALL OF THIS COMPELLING EVIDENCE DOESN’T SWAY YOU, I DON’T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.
THANK YOU AND GOODNIGHT.
pls dont cry if you cry i cry
OKAY BUT I JUST READ NARUTO AND NARUTO SAVED GUY SENSEI AND LEE IS ALL EMOTIONAL AND IM CRY
I can change the future?
